Steve Pflantz (2017 Society President)

Steve Pflantz, P.E. is the 2017 ISA Society President. Steve has been an active ISA leader at various levels for 30 years. He also serves on several committees within the Automation Federation (AF) and has been an active participant in their workforce development initiatives and advocacy programs. Steve has over 30 years of experience in industrial automation including 17 years in the Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology Industry. His work experience has covered a wide range of industries; grain milling, bulk & specialty chemical, pulp & paper, amusement park and entertainment venues, food & beverage, consumer health products, and life science industry manufacturing. As an Associate at CRB Consulting Engineers, Inc., he is the technical co-lead for the electrical and automation design disciplines for the company. Steve is a graduate of the Missouri University of Science and Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, and is a member of the Academy of Electrical and Computer Engineering at MoS&T. He is a licensed professional engineer in 14 states.

James Young (District 7 Vice President)

James Young

James Young is an Instrument Reliability Specialist at The Dow Chemical Company Texas Operations site. He joined Dow in 1990 as part of the Instrument Services Group. James is an ISA Senior member, has functioned on the local ISA Board as an officer since 1998, chairs the ISA 75 Control Valve Standards Committee, and is a member of the ISA 96 Actuator Standards Committee. James was President of the ISA Brazos Section in 2005, when the section earned a “Gold Section” recognition. James became the ISA District 7 Vice President in 2017. James received a degree in Electrical Engineering from Louisiana State University in 1989.

Parking Instructions

Please park in the Bechtel visitor lot (free) at 3000 Post Oak, and enter the building on the west side (opposite the lake). Go to the lobby reception desk and present your driver’s license or passport to obtain a guest (paper) badge.

Please register online by noon Feb 27. This will allow us to have an accurate headcount for the food, and will allow those who pre-register expedited processing at the reception desk.
