2015 ISA Section Excellence Award

The 53rd Annual ISA Honors & Awards Gala was held October 11, 2015 at the Louisville Marriott Downtown, Louisville, KY, USA. The Honors and Awards program provides an opportunity for ISA to recognize outstanding individuals, corporations, and Sections and Divisions for the contributions they have made to the Society and/or the automation industry. The Houston Section received the Section Excellence Award for the development and execution of programs and services that contributed to advance the mission of the Society.

Hosted by Master of Ceremony Terry Ives, 2013 ISA President, ISA’s Celebrating Excellence Apex award was presented to over nine individual volunteers and the Houston Section for their exceptional accomplishments in the field of automation and/or service to the Society. Also recognized where three honorees of the Member’s Choice Awards. Member’s Choice honorees are nominated and selected by member vote.

In addition to the Celebrating Excellence honorees, five Senior ISA Members, elevated to the distinguished grade of ISA Fellow, were also recognized. The grade of ISA Fellow is granted in recognition of outstanding achievements in scientific or engineering fields as recognized by ISA peers.

This year’s honoree guest list included individuals from such distant locals as Canada, Spain and India, reinforcing the important role ISA plays in educating, advancing, and recognizing the achievements of automation professionals around the world.

Following the evening’s presentations, 1honorees and their guests resumed their celebration in the hotel’s Rose Room, with entertainment provided by the local bluegrass band, RELIC Bluegrass. 2Click here for scenes from the awards program.

The nomination period for 2016 Celebrating Excellence nominations will be opened in the coming weeks. We invite you to review the 3Celebrating Excellence award categories and identify and nominate individuals who deserve consideration for one or more of these prestigious recognitions.
